Berlin progressive metalcore outfit CHAOSBAY have signed with Metal Blade Records and marked the deal with a video for "Egosystem", the third single from their next album, which is due in March 2027. A title hasn't been announced yet.
"Egosystem" follows "How Does It Make You Feel?" (July) and "The Lost Kids" (September). According to the band, the idea was "to combine the reggaeton feeling derived from hip-hop and nu-metal with catchy metalcore hooks and riffs." As with the previous singles, there is also a "soft version" of the track, which reworks it as a groovy indie piece and weaves in themes from other songs.
On the label deal, the band said: "We're incredibly happy to have been signed by such a renowned label as Metal Blade with our new material. A team that knows how to combine the classic roots of the genre with the modern world of metal and create something new from it is a perfect fit for a band like us." They added that they will "give everything we have to push our sound forward and redefine what it can be."
The new material is produced by frontman Jan Listing. CHAOSBAY have played Wacken Open Air and shared stages with ERRA, ANNISOKAY, SIAMESE, VENDED and EMIL BULLS. More music and touring are planned for 2027.
Lineup: Jan Listing (lead vocals, guitars), Alexander Langner (guitars), Matthias Heising (bass), Patrick Bernath (drums).
