Montréal melodic death metal outfit CONFINED TO OBLIVION are back with new music. The band has released "Time Flies," the first single from its upcoming EP How It Starts, which is due out on January 15, 2027. The track arrives with a lyric video.
According to the band, "Time Flies" deals with the feeling of time speeding up and the powerlessness that comes with it — a fitting theme for a group that has kept its own pace on the Québec scene for over a decade.
Formed in 2015, CONFINED TO OBLIVION blend melodic death metal with harsher extreme metal edges. Before How It Starts, the band put out two EPs and the full-length Resumption (2021). In early 2024 they also took a detour with a metal cover of Les Cowboys Fringants' "Les Étoiles Filantes," recorded as a tribute to the late Karl Tremblay.
How It Starts is set for release on January 15, 2027. More details on the EP are expected in the coming weeks.
