CRO-MAGS have released a new recording of "It's The Limit" with guest guitarist Meg Mills of TURNSTILE, the latest preview of The Age Of Quarrel: 40 Years Of Quarrel. The album, a full re-recording of the band's landmark 1986 debut, is out November 13 via BLKIIBLK, and the song arrives with a lyric video.
For Mills, the session was personal: she calls it the greatest honor that could have been given to an NYHC fan, says she would never have started a band without that record, and hails Harley Flanagan as one of the greats.
When we covered the album announcement in August alongside the new "World Peace", Flanagan explained the backstory. The project grew out of the "Wired For Chaos" documentary, whose soundtrack needed re-recorded songs because the originals couldn't be licensed. None of the musicians on the 1986 album were ever paid or saw an accounting of its sales; with the new version, the songwriters will finally be paid through ASCAP and BMI, and the remaining proceeds go to charity.
Flanagan is joined by original guitarist Doug Holland, former CRO-MAGS and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES guitarist Rocky George, Zach Blair, current members Dominic Dibenedetto and Dave Sharpe, and producer Arthur Rizk (POWER TRIP, BLOOD INCANTATION), who also mixed the record. SEPULTURA's Greyson Nekrutman plays drums on every track.
