Finland's CROWNSHIFT will release their second album, The Shadows We Buried, on January 29, 2027 via Nuclear Blast. The record is available to pre-order on CD now, and the band has launched the campaign with the single and music video "In The Dead Of Night", directed by Joel Korhonen.
CROWNSHIFT started as a long-planned project between four friends drawn from the top tier of the Finnish scene, with roots in NIGHTWISH, CHILDREN OF BODOM and WINTERSUN. Their self-titled debut landed on Nuclear Blast on May 10, 2024: eight tracks of modern, hook-heavy melodic death metal fronted by vocalist Tommy Tuovinen, with ex-CHILDREN OF BODOM guitarist Daniel Freyberg and drummer Heikki Saari.
The new album arrives with a lineup change. Bassist Jukka "Jukkis" Koskinen, who also plays with NIGHTWISH, has parted ways with the band, and Kevin Apostol of ASSEMBLE THE CHARIOTS has stepped in on bass.
Since the debut, the band has played major European festivals, toured Europe as a support act and sailed with the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise. Nuclear Blast presents The Shadows We Buried as the start of a new chapter, with highlights including "In The Dead Of Night", "All Hail The One", the epic "Gone Before Tomorrow" and "Until The Silence Falls".
