Leeds chaotic metalcore crew CROWQUILL have released the new single "Cannula" and announced their debut full-length, SLEPT WITH CANNULA, due November 20 via DAZE and Hardlore Records.
Formed out of the Leeds hardcore scene in 2024, the band follow up their well-received self-titled 2025 EP (The Coming Strife) with a ten-track album made very much on their own terms. Guitarist Kahal designed the artwork and handled production, mixing and mastering at his home studio. The songs were recorded without a click, each in a single take, to capture the energy of the band's live shows. The reference points are late-'90s and early-'00s metalcore such as CONVERGE and ON BROKEN WINGS, run through a modern lens.
"Cannula" is a four-minute frenzy of layered riffs, sliding intervals and disruptive drumming, with vocalist Liam's screams painting a picture of recovery, a theme rooted in the real-life experiences that run through the whole record.
Drummer Terry sums up the band's ethos: everything started with the words "fuck it, let's do it," and that attitude of going completely nuts drives their music, live shows and artwork alike.
