DARKEST HOUR Unleash "Warrior" Video Ahead Of 'Suffer Divine', Announce December Headlining Tour

Washington, D.C. metalcore veterans DARKEST HOUR have released "Warrior," the second single and video from their eleventh studio album, Suffer Divine, which arrives on October 30.

Guitarist Mike Schleibaum calls the track a showcase for the band's melodic death metal side "with a bit of a modern twist," singling out Nico Santora's solo, Travis Orbin's drumming, Aaron Deal's low end and John Henry's dense lyrics. "This album is full of both rage and technicality," he says. "It's furious with focused intent, and this song is a perfect example of that in action."

Henry describes the lyric as a call to the "intrapersonal warrior": "The internal struggle is often the most important battle we ever fight. This song touches on the idea of gaining control of your thoughts, actions, and purpose. It's meant to be fuel for action."

The video was directed by Thomas Mignone for DOOM Inc. According to Schleibaum, it borrows from two favorites of the band — Martin Scorsese's Raging Bull and LL Cool J's "Mama Said Knock You Out" clip — and is "both fun and tough at the same time."

We covered the album announcement and the title track last month. Suffer Divine follows 2024's Perpetual Terminal.
