DEAD WYTE, a new project uniting MUDVAYNE guitarist Greg Tribbett with his brother, vocalist Derrick "Tripp" Tribbett, has released its debut single, "Mother Trucker." The track arrives with an official video directed by Dusten Boles.
Greg Tribbett is a founding member of MUDVAYNE, whose detuned, rhythmically knotted riffing was central to the band's sound from L.D. 50 onward. He also played in HELLYEAH alongside MUDVAYNE frontman Chad Gray, and spent time in the short-lived AUDIOTOPSY.
Tripp Tribbett fronted Florida's TWISTED METHOD in the early 2000s and later played bass and sang backing vocals in DOPE. DEAD WYTE marks the first time the brothers have shared a band, bringing their two corners of the heavy scene together under one name.
No album or further release details have been announced yet. The single lands as MUDVAYNE itself has been quiet on the recording front, with Chad Gray recently returning to the stage after a vocal injury.
