Italian death metallers EYES OF AGONY have premiered "Eyes Of Agony", the second track revealed from their debut album, When They Return. The song is streaming exclusively at NoCleanSinging.com, and the album is out November 20 via Awakening Records.
The band is the work of Danny Cinicolo, founder of the Italian old-school acts EXCIDIUM and MALEFICARUM. He wrote the material over several years, posting some of it on his YouTube channel, Danny Cynic, and the response from death metal fans convinced him to build a full-length around it. He brought in his old MALEFICARUM bandmate Andrea Zanetti on vocals, a veteran whose résumé also includes ICONOCLAST, SCHIZO, SINOATH and MONUMENTUM's In Absentia Christi.
Drummer Davide Billia (BEHEADED, HOUR OF PENANCE, ANTROPOFAGUS, PUTRIDITY) recorded his parts at his own MK2 Recording Studios. Guitarist Massimo Boffa (MIND CONTROL, HALLEY) and bassist Fabrizio "Jesus" Biondi (MECHANICAL GOD CREATION) complete the lineup.
When They Return runs nine tracks across 36 minutes of old-school death metal, with nods to INCANTATION, NILE, CANNIBAL CORPSE, AT THE GATES and DEATH. Luca Nicolucci mixed and mastered it at Comet Broadcasting Studio, and the cover is by Julian Mortuus.
The first single, "Resuscitation Failed", is still streaming on Awakening Records' channel:
