Austin, Texas progressive metalcore band FERVENCE have released a video for "Oculum", taken from Constructs, their first album for Metal Blade Records, which came out on October 16. The band are currently on a US tour with ENTHRONEMENT.
Founding guitarist Trent Odneal says of the song: "This song draws a lot of inspiration from the grittiness in DEFTONES' self-titled album. I really tried to make it feel dark, abrasive, human if you will, while maintaining a cinematic undertone, without overdoing it."
"Oculum" follows the earlier videos for "Zenith" and "Ascension". Constructs was produced by Odneal and guitarist Austin Bentley and mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren. It is out on CD, digitally and on two US vinyl variants.
FERVENCE started in 2019 in Reno, Nevada, as Odneal's solo project. They released the debut Ghost in 2020, and vocalist Stevie B. joined in 2023, ahead of the Realm//One EP.
