Polish death/thrash metal band GRÓB have released a video for "Szczury Wrocławia" ("Rats Of Wrocław"), the second single from their long-awaited debut album, Ikonoklasta. The record comes out on CD via Putrid Cult on November 6.

GRÓB — Polish for "grave" — started in Wrocław in 2019 as a studio project of Necromaniak (guitars, drums) and Death Dealer (vocals, lyrics), with the simple goal of recording "rotten yet catchy" metal for an underground cassette release. Two demos followed, then the EPs Mięsożerca (2021) and Misophonia (2022) on Putrid Cult, the split Groźby karalne / Żelazna Kurtyna (2025) and a self-released live tape.

The band say their music draws from "the more peculiar corners of early extreme metal, old hardcore punk and, of course, BLACK SABBATH," while the lyrics dig into the darker chapters of Polish history, especially communist-era serial killers. Ikonoklasta keeps that ugly mix of thrash, death and doom, fuelled by punk and rock 'n' roll, but also makes room for social commentary. "Okultyzm dla mas", "Szczury Wrocławia" and "Będziesz zabijał" take on the near-religious worship of drugs in certain subcultures and the horror of being caught in the middle of a military conflict.

Jarosław Wysocki recorded, mixed and mastered the album at Soundscope Studio, and Artur von Ritter handled the artwork and layout. For fans of BULLDOZER, MASTER, CARNIVORE, DISCHARGE, OBITUARY and CELTIC FROST.
