Death metal band GROTESQUERIES are streaming their new EP Nightmare Delirium in its entirety via the Death Metal Promotion YouTube channel, a day before its October 30 release. Caligari Records handles the CD edition, while Rotter Records puts out the cassette.
The EP is the band's first new material since their 2023 debut album Vile Crematory, also on Caligari, and it arrives with a slimmed-down lineup. GROTESQUERIES are now a duo: founder Yianni Tranxidis stays on drums and vocals, and Anthony Paulini of COFFIN BIRTH has joined on guitar and bass.
Across four tracks and 16 minutes, Nightmare Delirium sticks to surging, stomping old-school death metal that draws on both the American and European traditions. Lyrically, the record deals with manipulation and fear and the ways they take over the mind. It closes with a cover of CANNIBAL CORPSE's "Gutted". The cover artwork is by Obfuscus Artworks.
Nightmare Delirium tracklist:
- Terrorforming
- The Crown of Spinning Steel
- Corporeal Purulence
- Gutted (CANNIBAL CORPSE cover)
