GWAR and horror host Joe Bob Briggs have joined forces on GWAR And The Last Drive-In-Stein, a split vinyl LP arriving November 13 via Pit Records. The release marks more than four decades of the Scumdogs Of The Universe and 40 years of Briggs on television, and it's launched with the single "Splatter-Fu", a song written for GWAR by John Brennan, out now with an official video.
Side A captures GWAR's live performance from the 2025 Halloween special of Shudder's "The Last Drive-In", mixing band originals with covers of songs tied to Briggs's show. Side B belongs to JOHN BRENNAN AND THE BIGFEET, the show's house band, with material written for its final two seasons; it's their third official soundtrack release.
Frontman Mike Bishop, aka Blöthar The Berserker, calls the pairing "a match made in hell", pointing out that GWAR wouldn't exist without horror movies, trash and "funny spooky stuff". Briggs, for his part, says that to capture the real spirit of Halloween he called up "the intergalactic warriors who live in Antarctica" and asked them to bring the fear, the filth and the fun.
