Mexican death metal outfit IN OBSCURITY REVEALED are streaming their second album, Caustic Maelstrom, in full via the Death Metal Promotion YouTube channel. The record officially arrives this Friday, October 9, through Personal Records.
Formed in Mexico City in 2014, the band built its name through Caverna Abismal Records and then a long run with Blood Harvest Records, which put out the Grim Fumes of Revelation EP, the debut full-length Glorious Impurity and a split with INFESTICIDE. Caustic Maelstrom lands seven years after that debut.
According to the label, the band has no interest in trends or stylistic detours: each release is meant to dig deeper into the same hostile ground, and this one is billed as the most brutal yet. The reference points are the cavernous, muscular early sound of MORBID ANGEL, NECROVORE and INCANTATION, with production that keeps enough clarity without taking the crush out of it.
IN OBSCURITY REVEALED have completed two European tours and are preparing for a third.
Caustic Maelstrom tracklist:
- Engulfed In Caustic Maelstrom
- Obsidian Bleeding
- To Death, In Fire
- Necrotically Gray Hand
- Phlegm Filled Chalice
- Consecrated By Rot
