LACUNA COIL have released a double single to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Karmacode, their fourth studio album from 2006. It pairs "Fragile XX", a reworked version of the Karmacode track "Fragile", with a remix of "I Wish You Were Dead" from 2025's Sleepless Empire by electronic/metalstep producer SWARM.

Vocalist Andrea Ferro says "Fragile" has always been a live favorite — it was one of the first songs the band played on stage, even before Karmacode came out. He admits that reworking a much-loved song can feel unsettling at first, especially for bassist and main songwriter Marco "Maki" Coti-Zelati, but says the band approached it as a tribute to the original and the album, and that "Fragile XX" now "feels and sounds like LACUNA COIL in 2026."

SWARM, a longtime fan, recalls hearing Karmacode in the mid-2000s and says the record shaped his taste. He insists he never remixes "for the sake of remix," and aimed to respect the original while turning it "upside down."

The anniversary treatment follows the path the band took with Comalies XX (2022), the full remake of their breakthrough third album, whose sessions in turn inspired Sleepless Empire, released in February 2025 via Century Media Records. The current lineup includes guitarist Daniele Salomone, who replaced Diego Cavallotti in 2024.

LACUNA COIL are back on the road in February and March 2027, supporting THE HALO EFFECT on an extensive European tour.
