METALLICA pulled a real rarity out of the vault on Saturday night, October 3, at Sphere in Las Vegas: "Devil's Dance" from Load, played live for the first time since June 7, 2008. It was the second show of the band's "Life Burns Faster" residency, and it came fourth in the set, right after "Blackened", "Fuel" and "Leper Messiah".
It wasn't the only long-absent song of the night. "The Outlaw Torn", the closing epic from the same 1996 album, returned for the first time since September 8, 2019.
The residency is built like the "M72" tour: each Thursday–Saturday weekend gets two completely different setlists, so nothing from Thursday's opener — which leaned on "Battery", "Creeping Death" and "Master Of Puppets" — came back on Saturday. Instead the band went with "King Nothing", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", "Orion" and "Whiskey In The Jar" before closing on "One" and "Enter Sandman".

"Life Burns Faster" runs to 24 shows — 12 "No Repeat Weekends" — through March 13, 2027. After the eight October dates first announced, the band added November 5 and 7, January 28 and 30, six February nights and four in March.
We covered the opening night and its full setlist on Thursday; with two very different nights already in the books, the deep-cut hunt is clearly on.
