MISTS, a new Belgian/American black metal project, will release its debut album, Summoning Eternity, on November 4 through Amor Fati Productions on CD and vinyl LP.

The trio brings together H. (OERHEKS, SILVER KNIFE, HÄXENZIJRKELL), C.V.B. (AERDRYK, ERBEET AZHAK, WOLVENNEST) and S.G. (VOX CLAMANTIS, DASHUYN). According to the label, the three set out to carve "an eerie path through broken tombstones and forgotten crypts".

Summoning Eternity is the band's first public work, and it doesn't waste space: two tracks, 39 minutes in total. The announcement describes a record that starts slow and brooding, then builds into a frenzy, drifting between impenetrable fog and ethereal atmosphere. Amor Fati calls it stridently black metal while also reaching "above and below it", and notes that even at its most violent the album holds on to a shimmering melodic thread. The artwork is by Blaeks.

No track has been released yet; we'll share the first one when it surfaces.

Tracklist:

  1. Through Eternal Graves
  2. Carved Miseries of Ancient Times
