Portuguese gothic metal veterans MOONSPELL will take their latest album Far From God across Europe next spring. The "God Is A Vampire Tour" opens on March 4, 2027 in Langen, Germany, and runs for 40 dates through April 18 in Haarlem, the Netherlands. The band calls it their most ambitious headline run to date, and it doubles as a celebration of 35 years of MOONSPELL.
The routing goes well beyond the usual Western European circuit. Alongside Germany, France, Spain, the U.K. and Scandinavia, the tour stops in Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. The band promises a new stage design with fresh lighting, video and sound production. Tickets are on sale now via the band's website.
Support comes from two acts MOONSPELL picked themselves: IOTUNN, the progressive metal band from Denmark and the Faroe Islands, and Spanish atmospheric doom outfit TODOMAL.
Frontman Fernando Ribeiro says Far From God was received "with an almost messianic fervor" by fans and band alike. He admits doubt and "a sense of impending doom" hung over the group before the record, and that the album "showed us wolves — and our pack — the way forward." Of the tour, he promises "a hunger to make every night count" and signs off: "See you on tour, far from God but close to you."
Far From God, the band's 13th studio album, came out on July 3, 2026 via Napalm Records. It was produced with Jaime Gomez Arellano, known for his work with PARADISE LOST, SÓLSTAFIR and GHOST. The current MOONSPELL lineup is Fernando Ribeiro (vocals), Ricardo Amorim (guitars), Pedro Paixão (keys), Aires Pereira (bass) and Hugo Ribeiro (drums).
