OVERTURE Unveil Title Track "The Final Straw" Ahead of November Mini-Album

Swedish heavy metallers OVERTURE have shared the title track of their upcoming mini-album The Final Straw, premiered today via the New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal (NWOTHM) YouTube channel. It's the second song revealed from the record, following "Fading Away", which debuted at Deaf Forever magazine last month. Dying Victims Productions releases The Final Straw internationally on November 20th.

The title track opens the five-song, 24-minute set and is the band's first new music to carry the record's name. Guitarist and vocalist Adrian Tobar founded OVERTURE in the summer of 2021; Demo 2022 earned the band a cult following in the trad scene before Tobar put the group on ice in 2023. After two years on the road with his other band, ETERNAL EVIL, he started writing for OVERTURE again, and a three-song self-titled EP followed in early 2026.

The Final Straw is the first release from an entirely new lineup: Tobar on lead guitar and vocals, Marlon Nachsel on rhythm guitar, Adam Sjö on bass and Wilmer Jansson on drums. The label places the record in the lineage of Swedish trad heroes HEAVY LOAD, OVERDRIVE and GOTHAM CITY, with a melancholic melodic streak that nods to peak DOKKEN and early-'80s SCORPIONS.

"The Final Straw" tracklist:

  1. The Final Straw
  2. Fading Away
  3. Lonely Awake
  4. Break On Me
  5. Escape
