SOIL have found a new home. The Chicago band, best known for "Halo" and "Unreal", has signed a global deal with Better Noise Music and marked the occasion with a new single, "Enemy X", out now with an official lyric video. A new full-length album is planned for 2027.
Bassist Tim King called the signing "a dream come true", saying the band could not wait to unleash its new material with label head Allen Kovac and his team. Better Noise A&R director Lexie Viklund described SOIL as legends with "an impressive catalog and even more impressive collection of new material."
According to King, "Enemy X" speaks to the turmoil of the moment — the fighting, the finger-pointing, and the way people get lost in drama until it turns into anger and hatred. The chorus asks the question outright: "Do you even know who you're out here fighting? Do you even know what side you're on?" King says the band wants listeners to stop and self-reflect.
Formed in 1997, SOIL broke through with the major-label debut Scars (J Records, 2001), riding MTV airplay and tours with Ozzy Osbourne and ROB ZOMBIE onto arena stages. Re.De.Fine (2004), True Self (2006), Picture Perfect (2009) and Whole (2013) followed, along with the 2017 best-of Scream: The Essentials and the 2023 covers set Play It Forward, which took on WHITE ZOMBIE, MOTÖRHEAD and the RAMONES. The band says it has sold more than two million albums worldwide.
SOIL are Ryan McCombs (vocals), Tim King (bass), Adam Zadel (guitar) and TJ Taylor (drums).
