THE MOSAIC WINDOW, the black metal project of multi-instrumentalist Andrew Steven Brown, has signed with Vesperian and will release a new album, Answered Prayers, on November 13. The first single, "What Sage Could Not Cleanse", is out now with a video.

Answered Prayers marks a deliberate step back from the polished, prog-tinged death/black hybrid of 2024's Hemasanctum. Brown returns to the project's original core: first- and second-wave black metal, atmospheric rasps of despair and buried, ghostly death growls. Across ten tracks, the album follows a nihilistic concept in which humanity is erased retroactively, centuries before the Industrial Revolution, as the only cure for a poisoned world.

"What Sage Could Not Cleanse" is an older composition, and the label presents it as the clearest statement of that back-to-the-roots direction: raw and unpolished, built on the idea that no ritual can purify what is already beyond saving.

Brown handles all instruments and vocals. Dmitry Kim plays session drums on the record, Alex Sedin of Ghostalgy Productions mixed and mastered it, and the cover art is by Luciana Nedelea, known for her work with MARE COGNITUM and SEPULCHRAL CURSE.
