Denver's WAYFARER have released "Grey Country," the third and final single from their sixth album, Riders Of The Setting Sun, which comes out November 20 via Vesperian.
The song features Munly J Munly and Rebecca Vera, longtime collaborators of the band and two pillars of Denver's gothic Americana scene through SLIM CESSNA'S AUTO CLUB, MUNLY & THE LUPERCALIANS and DBUK. They follow David Eugene Edwards, who sang on the album's first single, "Perdition's Crossing".
The label calls "Grey Country" one of the darkest moments on the record: a slow, brooding ride across a desolate landscape that deals with legacy, guilt and what's left to hold on to when everything else is gone. Munly's unmistakable voice meets the band's sparse, haunted sound somewhere between confession and lament.
Produced by Ben Chisholm, known for his work with CHELSEA WOLFE, Riders Of The Setting Sun pushes WAYFARER further from their extreme metal roots into a stark Gothic Americana built from post-punk, folk and rock and roll. Kelly Schilling and MIDWIFE also guest on the album.
The record will be out on limited digipak CD, cassette and a long list of vinyl variants, all with an LP booklet and OBI strip.
