Dallas black metal quartet WYRM CHASM have released their self-titled debut album on vinyl, CD and digital formats. The record is self-released and streaming in full on Bandcamp.
Guitarist Eric Carrasco and bassist/vocalist Stephen Jeter formed the band in March 2015, so the full-length has been a long time coming. The lineup is completed by guitarist and backing vocalist Dale Childs and drummer Buddy Griffin. Their sound sits on the atmospheric and melodic side of black metal: cold, oppressive textures, emotionally charged riffing and furious drumming. The band name WINTERFYLLETH, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, EMPEROR and MGŁA as touchstones.
"We've crafted our eponymous album into a melodic, yet atmospheric release that fully represents our sound and attack," the band said.
The album was tracked at Razor Throne Studio in Austin and mixed and mastered at S.A.M. Studios in Dallas, with cover art by Mark Erskine. "Netjer" and "Throned Entropy" both have videos.
