KATATONIA are heading back out on the road. The Swedish band has announced "Waking State Of Europe", a run of 14 headline shows that opens in Hanover, Germany, on March 31, 2027, and closes on home soil in Lund, Sweden, on April 17. Canadian post-punk outfit Bonnie Trash will open, and one more special guest is still to be announced.
The route leans east and south of the usual festival circuit. After two German dates, the band plays Poland three times (Wroclaw, Kraków and Gdansk), plus Brno, Ljubljana, two Romanian cities, Sofia, Belgrade, Zagreb and Budapest — several of them places KATATONIA rarely reach on a headline run.
The tour keeps supporting Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State, the band's 2025 album on Napalm Records. Produced by frontman Jonas Renkse, recorded by Lawrence Mackrory, mixed by Adam Noble and mastered by Robin Schmidt, it pairs heavy, rhythmic riffing in songs like "Thrice" and "Warden" with quieter, stranger moments — "Lilac", the soaring "Temporal" and the Swedish-language "Efter Solen".
The current lineup is Jonas Renkse (vocals), Niklas Sandin (bass), Daniel Moilanen (drums), and guitarists Nico Elgstrand and Sebastian Svalland.
The artist presale opens on November 5 at 11:00 CET, with general sale following on November 6, also at 11:00 CET. Tickets are available via katatonia.com.
