MESHUGGAH will take their 40th-anniversary tour, "The Forty-Year Anomaly", to Europe in the fall of 2027. The 20-date headline run opens at KB Hallen in Copenhagen on September 29 and closes at London's OVO Arena Wembley on October 30. PERIPHERY and VILDHJARTA are along as special guests.
The European leg follows the North American dates announced last week, where the Swedes will be joined by TESTAMENT and BLOOD INCANTATION. According to the band, this run takes them to some of the largest rooms of their career, from Berlin's Uber Eats Music Hall and Vienna's Gasometer to Dublin's 3Arena and Madrid's Palacio Vistalegre.
Formed in Umeå in 1987, MESHUGGAH started out from thrash before veering into the polymetric, extended-range territory that became their signature on Destroy Erase Improve, Chaosphere and Nothing. Catch Thirtythree, obZen (we gave it 9.5/10 back in 2008), Koloss and The Violent Sleep Of Reason cemented a sound that has shaped generations of progressive and technical metal musicians. Their ninth and most recent studio album, Immutable, arrived in 2022 and topped the U.K. Rock & Metal Albums chart and Billboard's Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
