The first thing I want to note is that discs released by Griffin Music are simply a pleasure to hold in your hands. The packaging is just gorgeous! This disc is no exception — the booklet features stunning photographs of old cemeteries. Respect to the designer!
As for the music, I spent a long time picking my jaw up off the floor... Perfectum! I have never — and I mean never — been a fan of funeral doom/death (which is precisely the style this band plays), but this... this is simply something else. To be honest, I'm writing this review at night, writing and listening to the disc, and chills are running down my spine. You get the impression that the musicians managed to gather all of human sorrow into their work. I've never heard anything like it. Everything, absolutely everything is in its right place: beautiful clean vocals giving way to growls, aggressive death metal riffs yielding to magnificent atmospheric keyboard passages and guitar solos that induce genuine depression. Everything, absolutely everything is where it should be, and the recording quality is excellent. I don't have enough words to describe my emotions. Magnificent! If you're a funeral doom fan, I believe this disc is an absolute must-have in your collection — see for yourselves that Ukrainian artists create music every bit as good as their Western counterparts.
