And so we hold in our hands an album from these Spanish cutthroats and masters of the musical meat grinder. Right from the start, one cannot help but notice the brutal and gory artwork. Everything is in accordance with genre canon: inhuman faces, severed limbs, mangled flesh, and of course an ocean of blood. The musical content does not disappoint either. But unlike their closest stylistic relatives CANNIBAL CORPSE, AVULSED do not hack and chop their meat so mindlessly and soullessly. They continue the direction established on the previous album, "Stabwound Orgasm" from 1999. This is highly intense and varied brutal death with grind elements, a dense sound, and jaw-shattering rhythms complemented by magnificent brutal vocals. While none of this will surprise anyone these days, the high production quality also deserves mention. The disc stands out from the multitude of recent releases in this direction thanks to its original and distinctive approach to the music. It can therefore be recommended not only to die-hard genre collectors, who will be genuinely pleased, but also to any fans of "meat" looking to explore current trends in the style.
