BARBARITY

"Death metal doesn't live by blasting alone" — that's what I wanted to tell the creators of this work after a few songs. The beginning of the album is clearly of interest only to drummers: the drums dominate the foreground. It's fun at first, but then it starts to get tiresome — turns out it's quite difficult to keep the drum parts varied. The other instruments can be heard... somewhere off in the distance, and the vocals are nothing special either, just your standard growl. The situation gradually begins to change toward the middle of the album, and by track five we can hear that the band does in fact own guitars and apparently knows how to play them. But for the most part their roles remain episodic: at the beginning of songs and in rare instrumental breaks. Other than that... nothing unusual, even monotonous at times. Overall, I'd recommend this mainly to drummers — they should enjoy it.
