Naming your album "The Book of Heavy Metal" — isn't that bold? Then again, what DREAM EVIL have concocted here deserves such a title. The musicians have paid attention to various branches of heavy metal. Hard, power/thrash-oriented heavy sits alongside heavy metal bordering on hard rock. In short, all the best tricks of heavy metal made it into this book — that is, this album. Sure, we could give them a medal for their contribution to systematizing heavy metal and all that, but rehashing well-worn, albeit varied themes comes across as a minor creative stagnation. One can only hope their future releases don't turn into mere compilations of covers of STRATOVARIUS, BLIND GUARDIAN, SCORPIONS, and so on. There's also a music video on the disc. I didn't like it.
