Artaud Seth's music in his main project GARDEN OF DELIGHT has always been dual in nature. On one hand, there is the ever-present occult atmosphere, pressing on the psyche, repelling many with its density. On the other hand, there are constant flirtations with industrial elements, giving birth to practically dance-worthy gems. In every sense, this final album (the band officially ceased to exist in 2008) fits well within this duality, though the emphasis here must be placed on the first component. This is largely an atmospheric album, measured and heavy in mood. I doubt anyone would put it on if it's a bright day outside and you feel like singing. However, in its darkness it is beautiful in its own way and contains such magnificent tracks as "Lamentum" and "Transmission." The aforementioned second side of Seth's artistry is also present on the disc -- though this time only in one track, "Dying Sun." In my opinion, Artaud delivered an excellent farewell to his fans -- on his final album he distilled the quintessence of the band's last period of development, choosing the side of his creativity that proved more important: atmosphere.
