Attention! Everyone clean out your ears, point your antennae, and quick -- try to accept the new sedative from a local American ENT specialist, known in common parlance as LORE! Especially since the doctor happens to be an attractive young lady from Arizona who developed her medicine at the well-known European pharmacy Trisol Music Group. The sedative from LORE in the form of the debut album "My Soul Speaks" is prepared according to well-known recipes copyrighted by such renowned pharmacists as THE GATHERING, AMBEON, NINE INCH NAILS, and LIV KRISTINE.

Unfortunately, the comparison to such giants is necessary so that listeners can at least roughly imagine what awaits them on this disc. In reality, this blend of trip-hop, industrial, and ambient is served in an utterly indigestible form. I want to warn right away that guitars are nowhere to be found here; buzzing is only noticeable on the first track, Love Has Gone. LORE's compositional talent, like her vocal abilities, leaves much to be desired, since music and melodies -- in my understanding of these words -- are absent here; it's all just beats, samples, sound effects, and monotonous faceless chanting over all of it. The brightest pearl in a pile of gray pebbles is Haunting, featuring guest vocals by Sean Brennan, the leader of the cult goth-rock act LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT.

Thus, patients are left to decide for themselves -- whether to take the sedative from LORE on a regular basis or to use it once and set it on a shelf in the farthest corner, lest instead of a calming effect it suddenly produces an irritating one. I've already made my choice...
