russian label Stygian Crypt gladdens us with excellent releases. This time the firm's catalogue is replenished by a great digipack from RADIGOST, a melodic black metal band. The digipack is in brown colors and on the cover you can see a russian warrior, prancing through the boundless expanses of his motherland; you'll find great pictures inside as well. RADIGOST's music is melodic black metal. But a general definition won't tell you anything. Here you'll notice a lot of folk elements, keyboards, as it should be, and you will hear swords clanging. Every song is different: the tempo of every composition tends to change from fast to placid. Nine magnificent tracks delight you with epic monumentality, sometimes reinforced with furious blast-beats. The band are excellent players, especially keyboards. But the vocals (screaming and clear) sound a little too quiet. The songs of the band are war anthems of rusich warriors, who are ready to fight heroically for their homeland. Perun be with us!
