Is this a fantastic debut? Or a side project of famous black metal musicians? I guess not! Greenish booklet shows us young Norwegian pals. The band was formed in 1999, "Dark Prophecies" is a full length debut released in Brazil by Evil Horde. The band consists of five members and three of them compose music: Arcan - guitars, screaming, Celtus - bass, drums, synths, Sverre Bernstsen - guitars, Torbjorn Schei - clear voice and Tora Noss - female voice. Musically they are close to EMPEROR and DIMMU BORGIR in the 90's. EMPERROR got disbanded and DIMMU BORGIR turned to commercial rails, as a result we might claim SUBLIRIUM as new leaders of Norsk sympho black metal. At least they have quite a lot in store - excellent technique and elaborate songs, thick well defined black/death guitar sound, occasional solos, brilliant keyboard and organ passages. Prelude To War track is a good sample of ambient. Three various vocals, Viking lyrics (musicians are showing Thor's hammers on their necks and even on their logo), well, it's a good compensation for disappointed DIMMU BORGIR fans.
