What had I heard about this band before? Well, there was one song I downloaded from the Internet — "Another Time Around." I grabbed it some 3-4 years ago, back when I was heavily into power metal. The track was an excellent example of power metal — heavy, in the vein of ANGEL DUST. And so, having now heard the Swedes' new album, I was not disappointed. The record is genuinely strong and, in my opinion, stands as one of the best power metal releases of the year. The American school of metal makes itself felt through thrashy riffs, but you'll also encounter plenty of melodicism. The opening track, "Anubis," is particularly interesting, with Egyptian musical elements woven organically into the composition.
