TWILIGHT GUARDIANS, much like BLIND GUARDIAN, carry out their duty in the realm of heavy/power metal. It's no surprise that the band itself started as a cover project of the aforementioned Germans and their compatriots HELLOWEEN. As a result, in their own compositions the Finns employ both heaviness and melody, speed and slow passages, aggression and emotion. Moreover, the musicians don't use all of this throughout the entire disc, which gives us 10 practically distinct compositions. Some lean more toward power, others toward heavy, some are keyboard-heavy while others have none at all, and ballads haven't been forgotten either. What I'd count as a minus is the quiet vocals. Such a good voice deserved to be mixed louder.

A very solid effort — a bright stream flowing into the vast ocean of power metal, which unfortunately has lately been fed more and more by weak and dim tributaries.
