...AND OCEANS is a Finnish symphonic black metal band founded in 1995 in Kotka, Finland, emerging from the ashes of death metal act Festerday. Over the course of their career, the band developed a distinctive sound that blends symphonic black metal with industrial, classical, and EBM elements — an approach that set them apart within the Nordic extreme metal scene. After releasing several acclaimed records through the late 1990s and early 2000s, ...AND OCEANS disbanded in 2005. Founding guitarist Timo Kontio subsequently pursued the Havoc Unit project before the band reconvened in 2017. The reformation has proven prolific: ...AND OCEANS returned with a string of strong releases culminating in The Regeneration Itinerary (2025), widely regarded as their most ambitious and accomplished work to date.
