On April 24, 1963, bassist Billy Gould was born in Los Angeles, California. As a founding member of FAITH NO MORE, Gould became one of the most innovative bassists in alternative metal, his thick, distorted bass lines providing the rhythmic foundation for one of the most unpredictable bands of the late 1980s and 1990s. His playing on landmark albums like "The Real Thing," "Angel Dust," and "King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime" helped define a genre-defying sound that blended metal, funk, hip-hop, and avant-garde experimentation. Gould was also the band's primary business mind, running their label Koolarrow Records and managing much of FAITH NO MORE's operations. Beyond his bass skills, his role as the band's stabilizing force through turbulent lineup changes and lengthy hiatuses proved equally crucial to their legacy as alternative metal pioneers.
