TOMMY CLUFETOS — the drummer who served alongside OZZY OSBOURNE for over a decade and stepped in as BLACK SABBATH's touring drummer — has opened up about his clean lifestyle and the philosophy he brings to playing with legendary acts. In a recent WGN News interview, the Detroit native summarized his approach with characteristic directness: "I never did drugs, I don't drink, and I just play rock and roll like a guy who did."

Clufetos explained his method when joining legendary bands: honoring the original recordings while injecting his own kinetic energy into the performance. "I always try to take it back to its original incarnation that people love, and I do my thing through doing that," he said.

The drummer's résumé includes stints with Ted Nugent, ALICE COOPER, and ROB ZOMBIE before his long tenure with Ozzy. Notably, he did not play on BLACK SABBATH's 2013 reunion album "13" — that record used RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's Brad Wilk on drums.

Clufetos' own band TOMMY'S ROCKTRIP — featuring vocalist Eric Dover — released their debut album "Beat Up By Rock 'N' Roll" in 2021 via Frontiers Music Srl.

A lifelong practitioner of extreme physical discipline, Clufetos brings the same relentless intensity to his drumming whether performing at small clubs or massive arenas — channeling pure adrenaline that rivals any substance-fueled performance in rock history.
