Atlanta metal act SEVENDUST have released their fifteenth studio album "One" via Napalm Records. The band again partnered with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette at Studio Barbarosa in Gotha, Florida — the creative team behind "All I See Is War" (2018), "Blood & Stone" (2020), and "Truth Killer" (2023).
The album arrives loaded with personal weight. In a new interview with Loud TV, vocalist Lajon Witherspoon reflected on the emotional core of the record: "We put a lot of work into it. I really feel like this one is one of our best — maybe due to maturity and the seasons and the things that we've been through."
When asked to name his "deepest scar," Witherspoon gave a raw, honest answer: "My little brother was killed, and that would probably be the deepest scar for me — still to this day. I feel his soul is here with me." He added that such wounds, though they never fully heal, ultimately make us stronger.
Witherspoon praised the partnership with Baskette: "Elvis — the best in the world. He's a member of our band, pretty much." He also noted strong vocal growth: "I wanted to sing more on this album. I think I was able to accomplish that."
"One" extends SEVENDUST's remarkable run as one of American heavy music's most consistent acts. Blabbermouth has already awarded the album a 9/10 score.
