Las Vegas metal act BUTCHER BABIES have released "Blame It On The Wind," the fourth single from their forthcoming album on Judge & Jury Records, accompanied by an official music video.
Produced by Howard Benson — known for his work with PAPA ROACH, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, and IN THIS MOMENT — the track was recorded at West Valley Recording Studios in Woodland Hills, California. Musically it shifts between slow-burn atmosphere and eruptive intensity, drawing comparisons to IN THIS MOMENT and JINJER in its dramatic contrasts.
Vocalist Heidi Shepherd explained the deeply personal origins of the track: "There are certain nights, certain moments, and certain connections you never fully shake." She described it as a meditation on "a lust you can't leave, a denial of accountability, and a laundry list of excuses" — drawn from a specific 2012 experience that left a lasting impression.
The release comes at a pivotal moment for BUTCHER BABIES. The band played their first concert following co-vocalist Carla Harvey's departure on July 27, 2024 — a transition that forced a thorough re-evaluation of identity and direction. The new material suggests the remaining members are moving forward with real purpose, crafting music that is simultaneously more introspective and more sonically aggressive than their earlier catalog.
Formed in Los Angeles in 2009, BUTCHER BABIES built their reputation on ferociously energetic live performances before relocating to Las Vegas and establishing themselves as a formidable force in the modern metal scene. Their discography includes "Goliath" (2013), "Take It Like A Man" (2015), "Lilith" (2017), and "They're Alive!" (2020). Upcoming international dates include performances in Japan in June 2026.
"Blame It On The Wind" suggests the new album will be a statement of reinvention — raw, focused, and driven by something genuinely personal.
