Former DRAGONFORCE frontman ZP THEART has released an acoustic studio version of "Trail Of Broken Hearts" to mark the 20th anniversary of the iconic power metal album Inhuman Rampage (2006). The track is available now on all major streaming platforms.

The song carries a special backstory: Theart and then-DRAGONFORCE bassist Frédéric Leclercq first performed it acoustically during a 2006 "Chaos" radio show — a sparse, intimate rendering that became a cult favorite among fans. Until now, no studio-quality version existed. This release finally captures that beloved interpretation in a proper recording, accompanied by a music video shot in near-total darkness to emphasize Theart's raw vocal delivery and acoustic guitar work.

Inhuman Rampage remains one of DRAGONFORCE's most celebrated records, home to "Through The Fire And Flames" — the speed metal anthem that earned platinum certification, featured in Guitar Hero III, and later appeared in Fortnite and Minions 4. The album cemented the band's reputation as the fastest, most melodically ambitious act in power metal.

"Trail Of Broken Hearts" represents Theart's fourth studio release in just seven months. Following "Dark To Light" (December 2025), an anniversary reimagining of "Through The Fire And Flames" (January 2026), and "Electric Beings" (April 2026), the singer continues a prolific solo output rooted in his DRAGONFORCE years.

Since leaving DRAGONFORCE, Theart has logged an impressive post-band career: a hard rock project I AM I, a collaboration with TANK, a six-year tenure as SKID ROW frontman (2016–2022), and PENTAKILL — the Riot Games virtual metal band where he voices the character Karthus.

For longtime fans, this acoustic "Trail Of Broken Hearts" is both a time capsule and proof that Theart's voice carries its own emotional weight when stripped of DRAGONFORCE's wall-of-sound production.
