Norwegian Balkan-folk metal outfit TROLLFEST have announced their tenth studio album, "Trollywood," set for release on November 6 via Reaper Entertainment.
Known for blending Balkan folk melodies with metal aggression and a heavy dose of humor, TROLLFEST built "Trollywood" around a satirical concept skewering troll celebrities and the entertainment industry at large, using Hollywood culture as a launching point for the band's trademark chaotic energy. The band describes the record as heavier and more aggressive than their previous output, featuring bigger riffs and more epic arrangements while retaining the theatrical, genre-blending approach that has defined their catalog since forming in the early 2000s.
Ahead of the full album, TROLLFEST will release the single "Day Drinking" on August 7. The track will additionally be pressed on a limited yellow vinyl edition of just 100 copies, sold exclusively at Summer Breeze Open Air festival, and will include an unreleased B-side, "Fire Fine Firfisler," not otherwise available on the album.
"Trollywood" spans eleven tracks, from opener "Attention" through closer "The Troll Oscars," continuing TROLLFEST's tradition of blending grindhouse absurdity with genuinely inventive songwriting. Across a discography built on equal parts oompah-inflected folk metal and self-aware comedic bite, the eight-piece band has carved out a singular niche within the broader folk metal scene, and "Trollywood" appears positioned to lean further into both the humor and the heaviness that longtime fans have come to expect.
With a decade-spanning catalog now reaching its tenth full-length, TROLLFEST show no signs of softening their approach, promising an album that satirizes celebrity culture while delivering some of their most muscular material to date.
