Illinois thrash outfit MISFIRE have unleashed a new video for "Born To Die," and paired it with the announcement of the first headlining tour of the band's career.
The track comes from "Product Of The Environment," the band's second full-length, released via MNRK Heavy. Directed by Edgar Castro-Salazar and edited by MISFIRE's own drummer James Nicademus, the clip is a straight live-performance piece — no concept, no narrative, just the band at their most volatile, which is exactly the right treatment for a song that never lets up.
The Eastern Conquest tour runs seven nights across the Midwest, opening August 24 at Smedley's in Cleveland, Ohio and closing August 30 at Sanctuary in Detroit, Michigan. Canadian thrashers RAIDER join as special guest for the entire run. Tickets are on sale now.

"Product Of The Environment" is a deliberately old-school record, and it recruited some heavyweight help to prove the point: guest guitar solos come from co-producer and engineer John Douglass, mixer Alex Parra of PALADIN, and DEATH ANGEL's Rob Cavestany. Rick Zesati supplied the cover art — a toxic-green mad-science tableau that would have looked at home in a record shop in 1987.
The press response leaned the same way. Metal Hammer Germany declared that "anyone who loves the thrash genre in its original form will happily add this album to their collection," while Heavy Music HQ called it "the sound of a new toxic waltz." Dead Rhetoric found in it "a lot of the sinister power that put the original Bay Area movement on the map," tempered with enough modern angst to reach second- and third-generation listeners.
The album followed a near-total lineup overhaul: Nicademus is the only member remaining from 2021 debut "Sympathy For The Ignorant," joined since by vocalist Tim Jensen, guitarist Konstadin Kostadinov and bassist Dan Stapinski. On the evidence of "Born To Die," the rebuild took.
