DIETH Debut New Lineup With 'Pound Of Flesh' Video, Second Album Due March 2027

DIETH have released "Pound Of Flesh", their first single and video with new bassist Tobias Cristiansson (GRAVE, NECROPHOBIC, ex-DISMEMBER). It is also the first preview of the Gdańsk band's second studio album, which Fireflash Records will put out in March 2027.

The song is fast, aggressive death/thrash, and the lyrics go back to the Sack of Magdeburg in 1631, one of the worst atrocities of the Thirty Years' War. The band draws a line from it to the wars of today: past the politics, territory and ideology, the cost of war is counted in human lives. The video follows the lyric's arc from "beating heart" to "ripped apart" with a full-band performance and graphic imagery of flesh being cut and torn.

Vocalist and guitarist Guilherme Miranda calls the song brutal, "exactly what I wanted this song to be", and one of his favorite things the band has done: "New song, new lineup, new video, new album coming."

The single is the band's first new music since "Animal Me" in November 2024. Earlier this month we reported that David Ellefson had left DIETH and that the band had signed with Fireflash.
