Phoenix, Arizona trap metal outfit DROPOUT KINGS have released a video for "Deadname", taken from Yokai (Napalm Records), and confirmed a European tour alongside GHØSTKID in April 2027.
The clip has a neon-lit, subterranean look, with the band bathed in flashing, saturated color. "Some songs you sing, others you let the spirits speak through you," says vocalist Black Cat Bill. "This is 'Deadname'."
Yokai is the final record featuring co-founding frontman Adam Ramey, who died on May 19, 2025, at 32, just weeks after completing his parts. The band brought together a career-spanning lineup of current and former members for the album and took it on the road as a tribute to him. DROPOUT KINGS fuse nu metal and rap, and broke through with "Virus", which reached the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
The current lineup is Black Cat Bill and Rob Sebastian on vocals, Chucky Guzman on guitar and The Cowboy Drummer on drums.
