SLIPKNOT's Eloy Casagrande Has Finished Tracking Drums For The New Album: 'They Are Done'

SLIPKNOT drummer Eloy Casagrande has finished recording his parts for the band's next full-length. "I just finished recording the drums, so all the drums, they are recorded. They are done," he told STRAY FROM THE PATH drummer Craig Reynolds on The Downbeat Podcast, adding that he wrapped up "10 days ago or a week ago."

It's Casagrande's first album with the band, and the first full-length news since SLIPKNOT returned with "Arsenal" in September — a song that, according to Jim Root, won't be on the record.

According to Casagrande, the writing started at the end of 2025, when he and Root began trading riffs and drum beats. By February or March they were in the studio together with percussionist Clown (M. Shawn Crahan), jamming three or four hours a day, recording everything and combing the tapes for "those special moments that we felt connected." Over a few multi-week visits, the jams grew to include the core band — Mick Thomson, Alessandro "VMan" Venturella and Michael Pfaff — and the best fragments were cut up and built into songs.

Producer Matt Wallace, who helmed "Arsenal", sat in on the sessions. Casagrande says Wallace was there "trying to understand the SLIPKNOT universe," while Clown kept the focus on picking the strongest bits.

"Arsenal" itself came from somewhere else: Corey Taylor wrote it and sent it to Casagrande early in the year, with riffs by Root. The drummer says he first tried to respect Taylor's fairly basic demo drums, until Clown pushed him to "make it more interesting." He reworked nearly all of it to sound "more aggressive, more hypnotic" — and didn't know exactly what he'd play until the day they cut the single.

No title or release date has been announced. SLIPKNOT headline The (sic)est stadium tour in summer 2027, opening at Wembley.
