São Paulo pagan metal outfit THE HEATHEN SCŸTHE released their new single, "Carmina Pagani", worldwide today (October 16) through Combat Records, together with an official music video.
The band describe the song as a ritual call to heal the Earth and honor its sacred cycles. Built on chanted incantations, heavy riffs and a thick, immersive atmosphere, "Carmina Pagani" looks at the bond between people and the natural world, and at the traditions and knowledge that slipped away as modern life drifted from the land.
The single also adds a new name to the roster of Combat Records, the cult 1980s label behind early releases by MEGADETH, AGENT STEEL and ABATTOIR, which has been relaunched with a new generation of artists. We covered the label's comeback earlier this month with CHILD OF CAESAR's "Alive".
THE HEATHEN SCŸTHE was formed by veterans of the Brazilian metal scene and mixes pagan, symphonic, power, classic, industrial and extreme metal with theatrical costumes and a post-apocalyptic storyline: a sect of survivors from a dying future travels back in time to recover the wisdom humanity abandoned. The band introduced that world on a self-titled debut EP in 2024 and has been building it since through singles, videos and live shows.
