Spanish prog metallers WHISPER have revealed "Witchfinder's Dreams", the second track from Whisper / Liminal Spaces, a compilation of their first two EPs. Dying Victims Productions will release it internationally on CD and vinyl LP on November 20. The song premiered today at The Obelisk.
WHISPER started in 2022 as a studio project of drummer José Vicente Aldeguer (IRON CURTAIN, PHANTOM SPELL), who began recording ideas for a new band. The self-titled debut EP came out digitally in 2023, and the project played its first live show in January 2024, previewing material from the follow-up, Liminal Spaces.
The Dying Victims release gathers the tracks from both EPs, all remixed and remastered, for about 40 minutes of music. The roots are prog and traditional heavy metal, from DIAMOND HEAD and IRON MAIDEN to MERCYFUL FATE and OPETH, with a strong lean toward clean-toned melodies and spacey vintage synths. The collection closes with the nearly 13-minute "The Whisper". The first preview, "Pathways", premiered earlier via Deaf Forever magazine.
