The first Marduk-esque specimen to land on my dissection table. Let's cut — assistant, scalpel, clamp!.. So, we're gutting the innards. What do we see?.. Shine the light!.. Not there — here! Ah, I see malignant black metal nodules, spreading like a bloated pestilence across the Swedish endoderm... An accelerated, hyper-blast pulse, the misanthropic mood of a pre-stroke brain, flickering with vessel threads ready to burst at any moment.

Looking further — oh, what a ghastly throat. During mating season, it probably roared louder than all others, calling for a shaggy mate. And the hair — yes, quite the hair... Stiff, unyielding, glossy — I thought about scalping and licked my lips... I'm talking about the guitars here — they reminded me of DISSECTION, their "Somberlain."

And the shriveled embryo on the cover is also quite fitting — a reminder that the band is at the initial stage of its development, striving to move from simple to complex, through thorns to the stars.

Overall, the verdict on "Verdict Of Posterity" is as follows: a decent little album, if somewhat tedious. Diligently and painstakingly recorded, with an emphasis on guitar drive, but — it doesn't grab you. For the year 2000, a perfectly acceptable record, chasing after a fading trend...
