HOLISSSTIK

Avant-garde / Dark Electronic
Trondheim, 🇳🇴Norway Formed in 2024

HOLISSSTIK is the collaborative project of Tor-Helge Skei, a founding member of Norwegian avant-garde acts MANES and LETHE. Formed in 2024 and based in Trondheim, it takes its name from the Greek "hólos" — whole — after Skei's guiding idea that each part cannot be understood when separated from the whole. Skei developed the instrumental compositions over several years, then opened them to some twenty guest contributors, among them vocalists Anna Murphy, Marita Hellem and Martyna Halas, members of MANES and LETHE, and Buddhist monks. The music sits at the intersection of dark electronic, ambient, trip hop, jazz and metal, with lyrics in English, Pali, French, Polish and Italian. The debut album "Chapter I: This Endless Solitude" was released on 14 August 2026 via Season of Mist and is the first instalment of a planned trilogy.
