German power metal veterans MASTERPLAN have shared the official music video for "The Call," the fourth and final pre-release single from their long-awaited comeback album "Metalmorphosis," due June 26, 2026 via Frontiers Music Srl. This marks MASTERPLAN's first new studio album in 13 years, following 2013's "Novum Initium."
Led by former HELLOWEEN guitarist Roland Grapow and fronted by vocalist Rick Altzi, MASTERPLAN described "The Call" as the most complex and controversial piece on the record. Grapow explained: "We worked on this track longer than on any other — listeners will hear something different in it each time." The song's video reflects its multi-layered character, built around themes of confrontation and transformation.
"Metalmorphosis" — a title suggesting transformation while remaining faithful to MASTERPLAN's classic spirit — promises a heavier, more direct approach than the band's previous releases. Grapow wanted to strip away commercial overproduction and return to essentials: "Powerful, melodic, and emotional — classic MASTERPLAN, but with a new energy." The 10-track album was crafted with renowned producer Andy Sneap, a name synonymous with precision modern metal.
The album's earlier singles — "Chase The Light," "Through The Storm," and "Electric Nights" — have steadily built excitement for MASTERPLAN's return. The band is currently supporting the release with a European tour that launched in April 2026.
MASTERPLAN originally formed in 2001 from the upheaval of HELLOWEEN lineup changes, and their self-titled debut remains a power metal landmark. A 13-year wait ends on June 26.
